Consent at LL
At Les Libertines, we practice affirmative, enthusiastic consent.
In short: Yes means Yes; No means No; hesitation means stop.
The F.R.I.E.S. Model
| Letter | What it Means |
|---|---|
| Freely given | Consent is a choice made without pressure, manipulation, or influence of substances. |
| Reversible | Anyone can change their mind at any time — even mid-activity. |
| Informed | Everyone has all relevant info (e.g. STD status) and knows what they’re agreeing to. |
| Enthusiastic | Look for active interest, not just simple agreement, tolerance, or compliance. |
| Specific | Saying yes to one thing doesn’t mean yes to everything. |
Examples of Consent
- Ask before touching
- Check in during
- Treat a “maybe” or “I’m not sure” like a “no”
- Treat stiffness or silence a signal to stop and check in
Still have questions?
That’s okay — healthy consent culture takes care and practice.
Here’s a cute video that is great at exploring the concept in a fun way. Also feel free to reach out to us 💜
