Consent at LL

At Les Libertines, we practice affirmative, enthusiastic consent.

In short: Yes means Yes; No means No; hesitation means stop.

The F.R.I.E.S. Model

LetterWhat it Means
Freely givenConsent is a choice made without pressure, manipulation, or influence of substances.
ReversibleAnyone can change their mind at any time — even mid-activity.
InformedEveryone has all relevant info (e.g. STD status) and knows what they’re agreeing to.
EnthusiasticLook for active interest, not just simple agreement, tolerance, or compliance.
SpecificSaying yes to one thing doesn’t mean yes to everything.

Examples of Consent

  • Ask before touching
  • Check in during
  • Treat a “maybe” or “I’m not sure” like a “no”
  • Treat stiffness or silence a signal to stop and check in
